Visa requirements

Visas are required by all visitors to Bahrain, except passport holders of the GCC states (Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates).

Citizens of Australia, Canada, European Union (with certain exceptions), Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America are eligible to obtain 'visa on arrival' at the Bahrain International Airport. This facility is also available to visitors who have been resident in the GCC region for a minimum of six months, and who possess a return visa for the country of GCC residency.

Visitors who are not eligible for visa on arrival should apply for their visas through their respective hotels in Bahrain or through MEFTEC's appointed travel agent. Overseas Bahrain missions normally do not process visa applications.

Getting there

Over 40 international carriers, operating daily flights from across the globe, service the Bahrain International Airport. Gulf Air, Emirates, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways operate the maximum number of flights to and from Bahrain. Flight distance to Bahrain is 6 hours from London, 3 hours from Mumbai and only 50 minutes from Dubai.
